The Thematic Network will be coordinated by Michael Dawney of Middlesex University, London, UK, supported by a Steering Committee of 6 members. A Forum will take place twice yearly in which the Committee will be joined by a representative from each of the Special Interest Sub Groups.
Communication with members will be through a range of uses of the internet and in particular the World Wide Web, including a bi-monthly Newsletter, established using COMNET, and a variety of subscription based on-line discussion groups, including one for each of the Special Interest Sub Groups. Some Discussion Groups would be established for students from participating institutions and would form the basis for cross Europe ODL and joint curriculum packages, including special programmes for Masters and research students in highly specific subject areas that would not be sustainable in a single University.
