5.7 THE PLACE OF LEARNING

The general trend of many of the companies studied here was to integrate learning into the working context. There were, however, some misgivings that this might lead to a clash with the need to get work done quickly and efficiently. As a result, a couple of people advocated setting aside time outside working hours for learning. No one went so far as to shift the onus of learning to the learner and have it done at home as is taking place in some companies like Bosch in Germany[25].
