development and ethics

Presentation of the Environnemental Problem investigated :
The future of agriculture : Organic, or genetic ?
Common
exchange area : writing workshop.
Time / Activities :
- December and January :
- First articles sent to a journalist. And from there maybe
in the local press. Hold thumbs for us.
- Questionnaires from the other schools in the team - the
best would be if we could work out a questionnaire together -
and ask consumers in all the countries at the same time.
- Contacts about who to visit and interview
- Preparation of interviews - formulation of questions that
we would like the other countries to clarify for us
- Presentation of questions to the class - critical
revision
- Setting up of the interview teams : who goes to see whom
?
- February :
- 1st to 12th Small groups of students visit and interview
various concerned parties such as: Scientists, authorities,
agrobusiness companies, green activist movements.
- Here they can also ask questions for the other classes in
the investigation team
- February 15th to 19th
- The groups write their scientific reports on these visits -
and put these and answers to questions on the web (English and
biology)
- March :
- Two groups write international articles on
- a) The promises and dangers of GMOs (Genetically Modified
Organisms)
- b) consumers' attitude to modern agriculture in Europe. The
articles must be based on their own findings - and on the
reports from the other countries.
- The international articles should be finished - i.e. drafts
for other countries to comment - by Easter.
- April Finished products by April, 20th
