The World Wide Web Initiative: The Project
(the World Wide Web Consortium page)
A lot of documentation, clients, servers, tools, papers, etc.).
In principle THE source !
(or this ?)
World-Wide Web Une introduction a l'utilisation du Web
et a la réalisation d'un serveur, par François Dagorn (Univ. Rennes) et
Claude Gross (Unité Réseaux, CNRS). - Un bon texte
texte en français!
"Entering the World-Wide Web: A Guide to Cyberspace"
by Hughes (EIT).The Guide is intended to be used as a beginner's guide to the
World-Wide Web in a "hands-on" sort of way, and offers answers to many
basic questions about the Web. Web statistics, software pointers,
information on hypertext and hypermedia, and other topics are
covered.
On the site of TableMaker, where everything is automatic: you just have to enter your data, then specify some options and a cgi-script gives you the corresponding HTML code (the only small problem is that you'll have to know quite well the HTML code to be able to get a good result)
htmltoc Home Page htmltoc is a Perl program to generate a Table of Contents (ToC) for HTML documents.
The LaTeX2HTML TranslatorPowerful, e.g. builds hypertext trees
and translates formulas in GIF files
(needs Latex files ...). There are add-ons for tables:
LaTeX HTML3 translator (did not manage to make it work) and ??? (where did I put that)
Frame2htmlFramemaker translator,
handles books and figures, creates TOC's.
Works well, easy to use, once installed. Only problem: Creates
one html file for one fm file (except books). The one below does more.
Webmaker2. The most powerful HTML generator on earth (still Beta
quality for figures and handling iso chars) - (Webmaker 1.4)

The Emacs Package "hm--html-menus". This package provides a special html-mode for the XEmacs (formely called lemacs or Lucid Emacs) and the Emacs 19. (by Heiko Münkel). My preferred tool.
HotMetal The First "easy" html editor from SoftQuad for Unix (other
platforms will be supported). As it come installed,
you can't edit your old
html files (HotMetal does a subset of html+, e.g. <p> ...</p>).
