By default,
where appropriate, citations are abbreviated automatically after the first
reference when bibliographies are produced by .
Provision is also made for this feature to be accessed during manual coding.
This feature may be overridden by using the <#675#>#tex2html_wrap_inline797#citationmode<#675#>
command which takes <#676#>full<#676#>, <#677#>abbr<#677#> or <#678#>default<#678#> as its single
argument.
The command <#679#>#tex2html_wrap_inline799#citationmodefull<#679#> makes the system use
full citations, <#680#>#tex2html_wrap_inline801#citationmodeabbr<#680#> makes the system use
abbreviated citations and <#681#>#tex2html_wrap_inline803#citationmodedefault<#681#> causes
the default behaviour of using full citations for the first instance and
abbreviated citations thereafter.
Alternatively, the citation mode may be selected as an
<#682#>full<#682#>, <#683#>abbr<#683#> or <#684#>default<#684#>
option to the
<#685#>#tex2html_wrap_inline805#usepackage<#685#> command that invokes the <#686#>harvard<#686#>\ package.
Use of the <#687#>default<#687#> option is redundant in that, if no citation
mode option is used, that mode will be selected automatically.
