Critical success factors in open and distance learning

By Joel Bonamy Researcher, Centre National de la Research Scientifique, Ecully, France

My position is influenced by the two points of reference which derive from my experience and knowledge. First, I illustrate continuing professional training with examples of research in the field of new learning technologies and in the quality assessment of training services. Secondly, I reflect on the economics of learning which should be inspired by the realities of delivering a service rather than by standard theories, bearing in mind that human interaction remains a central and critical success factor in open and distance learning.
