Reason 2: The problem with meta data

• Complete meta data schemas are very complex and hard to understand (ever looked at IMS ?)

• Simple schemas are not too useful or too specialized

• Entering meta-data is a boring task.

• Who is paid to do that, who will maintain ?

• Documents move (and separate meta data gets lost)

• Meta data are not enough (see the world of libraries)

• Quality issues are not really addressed (except if an expert does the entry)

• Let the text also speak for itself ...and profit from smarter indexing technology
