Catherine and Carine

Hi everybody!

We are two university friends who decided to join their positive energies to work together ! We both are studying the Educational Sciences in Geneva, second year.

Besides we work in social domains as a part-time job (for instanse 4 years in hospital for chronic deseases, and persons living with AIDS).

Because of our interest in the human body and its fonctionning, we chose to work on preconceptions about health and disease in relation with the AIDS-campaigns.
When we have extra-time, we like to travel a lot, to see movies... Carine is 26, and Catherine is 30. (!) Oh! We forgot the most important: we love red wine...and good cooking (Italian and French...)!

Big hugs, and we are waiting for your messages!

Chahdi and Nathalie

Hi everybody!

We are two students in Sciences of Education, 2nd year. Although we are only two, we are a multicultural group:

One of us is from Marocco, she's 31, she loves liberty and truth. She also likes sport (volley-ball & hand-ball) and she joined the HUMANITIES group because she's very interested in multimedia.

The other one is both Spanish and Swiss, she's 20, likes travelling, sport Italian food (food in general, in fact...). Above all, she likes meeting people from far away countries. She joined HUMANITIES because she's interrested in social problems and multimedia.

We wish the world would be better thanks to projects like HUMANITIES II.

Our Research Project

We are working on the peoples' preconceptions about the relationship between partners and sexuality.

We'll try to demonstrate that some of the TVspots shown were too far from the everyday realities.
Are such spots efficients ?

Our point is to try and answer a (short) part of this question: understand what people have in their mind when they are seing TV AIDS-spots.

Sonia

Hello,

I am Sonia,

In my second year of "Sciences de l'Education" (= studying different approaches to Education).

I am using this "HUMANITIES" project to get rid of the feeling of hostility that technology allways inspires me... For the time being, I seem to have succeeded since I find e-mail and internet quite funny.

Apart from having fun in this HUMANITIES project, I have used the last 19 years of my life doing lots of drama (nine years), painting, singing and black and white photography. I also spend a good deal of time reading on social and political problems and going to cinema to watch non-commercial films.

Since I moved to Geneva (I used to live with my Irish mother, Libanese father and my "half" brother and sister in Lausanne, Switzerland...), I am sharing an apartment with six students coming from Italy, Senegal, Colombia, Norway, China and Yugoslavia... So, as you can guess, I am coming to know as many cultures as possible !

That's why I'm eager to hear about all of you out there !

Bye, Sonia

Tania

Hi!

I'm Nathalie and studying in the psychologie section. I'd like to become social psychologist. Besides that, I'm working in a self-help group which is called SID'ACTION.

Hi!

My name is Tania. I'm 24. I'm studying in Education sciences. I'm specially interested in special education. Actually, I'm working with children who have some difficulties in their relationship with their family.

Hi!

My name is Nicolas Schindler. I'm 25. I'm a student in Education sciences, too.
I'm interested in Humanities 'project because it's gonna be an initiation for Internet. Furthermore, I'm concerned by AIDS 'problem. I've been travelling for 2 years in South-East Asia and I've seen a terrific conceptionand information about AIDS.

Our Research Project

We'd like to know what are the limits of the AIDS campaign. They are still many taboos in our society. Thus, they don't allow to speak about some aspects of the disease.

We'd like to compare mass media campaign with campaign aimed specifically at homosexuals as an example to illustrate these differences and limits.
