Learning technologies are used by Oracle Switzerland both in training employees and customers in software use. Three types are used:
* Interactive distance learning to create virtual classrooms via two-way videoconferencing.
* Media based training on workstations either for individual on-the-job training or in a classroom context.
* Internet based services, currently limited to administrative and sales information, will be extended using the "Oracle Learning Architecture" to be unveiled summer '96.
Learning is part and parcel of contracts sold to clients who are free to chose from a number of forms of learning. As a result, learning is high up on the agenda of corporate culture. The sales force has needed special training to be able to sell packages including software licences, service and training. This training has been done using CD-ROMs in team learning context.
