Moo

The Moo is a synchronous communication tool. Le Moo est un outil de communication synchrone. To make the most of it, you have to use some basic rules. You will also find them into the technical guide (see archives).

Attention : MOO doesn’t like french, it doesn’t put up with the accents :-)

1. Connexion

connect For students : enter <guest>, validate (enter) and type your name
For tutors : enter your name and password separated with a space (connect) guest (enter)

@quit Disconnect -

help Help -

help <command> Help for a specific command help connect

2. Moving

@go <location> Moves towards a specific location : when you enter into a room, the description of the location @go fabrice’s seminar room

@join <somebody> Moves towards a room where is somebody you look for @join daniel

<location> Direct access to a location : from tecfaMOO ARRIVAL area (reception room), you have a direct access towards different rooms (obvious exit). You just have to type the name of the room. visit
(to go towards Visitor information)

3. Communication

say <message> or
" <message> Public message in a specific space (room) say hello or
" hello

whisper "<message>" to <somebody> Private message in a specific space whisper "hello" to daniel

page <somebody> <message> Private message wherever you are page daniel hello

emote <feeling> To state one’s feeling about something emote gets work up will apper as : daniel[guest] gets work up

4. Information

who Gives the list of everybody connected at the moment to the MOO (and where they are) -

look <object> Gives a brief description about an object look clock

5. Using the seminar room

A seminar room is mainly composed with tables and a blackboard.

Using the blackboard

look blackboard	Displays all the messages written on the board	-
writeb <message>	Adds a message to the board	writeb meeting hold on 23/01
eraseb n	Erases the message number n	-
cleanb	Erase all the messages	-

Using the tables : allows to meet with a little group. Commands say and whisper are of course valid at the table level.

sit <table name>	To sit down a table	sit Big Table (e.g.in fabrice's seminar room)
stand	To stand up from the table	-
speakup <message>	To speak to everybody in the room when you are sitting down	speakup hello
