Ph.D. work

The goal of this project is to explore the impacts of a new personalized simulation helping family Caregivers to cope with Alzheimer's relatives.

Advances regarding interactive narratives allow today to apply these technologies in environments of learning aiming at the acquisition of relational and social skills.

Within the framework of a project financed by the National Swiss Funds for scientific research, we wish to help the people living with a patient affected by the Alzheimer's disease to manage better their daily relation with the latter, and it resting on techniques of interactive narrative.

It is a question of generating dynamically at the same time the events taking place in the "narrative simulation" and the possibilities of actions which offer themselves to the user.

More particularly, we wish we can personalize finely the initial situation and the progress of the simulation according to the general characteristics of the situation (place, age of the actors, the occupations, the physical handicaps, etc.) and behavioral characteristics of the patient.
